Mark Seaman founded Timberland Investment Resources (TIR) in 2003. Prior to founding TIR, Mark was Executive Managing Director and managed Wachovia’s Timberland Investment Company. During Mark’s tenure with Wachovia, he was responsible for growing Wachovia’s timberland assets under management from $60 million to almost $1.4 billion and leading all phases of the timberland investment business and investment strategy including: establishment of the core investment process and discipline, portfolio management, accounting and reporting, compliance, sales and marketing, and product development. Throughout his tenure, Mark was directly responsible for all Wachovia timber acquisitions and performance results which included the purchase of over 1.5 million acres in 12 states, through 113 separate transactions and the resale of over $600 million in timber and timberland.

Mark is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University where he received a BS degree in Forest Management. In addition Mark is a Registered Forester, Certified Forester, and a member of Society of American Foresters.
